Avoca Engineering is currently seeking an experienced 1st Class Tradesman with Manual Milling and Manual Turning Machining experience to join our Machine Shop at Berkeley Vale.
Hours of work are 7am to 3:06pm Monday to Friday (38 hours per week with additional overtime available on occasions).
To be considered for this role, you will be able to:
- To run, operate and program CNC machines including milling machines 5 axis lathes and wire cutting machines to manufacture high precision parts
- Read and interpret engineering technical drawings
- Check and measure own work with technical precision instruments as well as conducting inspections of other peoples work in line with our Quality Assurance procedures
- Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
- Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
- Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
- Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc.
- Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
- Check output to ensure consistency with specifications
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
Relevant Qualifications
- Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
- Forklift License is preferred
- Hold a valid Drivers License
